COACHING AND TAPING: IN PERSON OR ON-LINE

Coaching:

I'm funny. I'm kind. I'm energetic. I'm not pretentious and I'm not a robot.
We can work together for as little as an hour if you are preparing an audition or a single scene. Or, we can schedule multiple sessions if you are working on a bigger project such as preparing a role or putting together several monologs to audition for a training program.

Taping:
The idea of a self-tape is such a misnomer.  You can't really do it by yourself. In the words of Rob Base and DJ EZ-Rock, "It takes two to make a thing go right." So, you do the acting and I'll take care of making sure it looks and sounds good. I will also read opposite you (skillfully!) and, finally, I will edit the clips and upload the ones we select to the platform of your choice.

In Person:
All you need is yourself.  Come to my studio at 223 W. 115th St. 5th Fl. New York, NY 10026 and we'll work and shoot the scene.  You can pick the takes you like or I will and then I'll edit and upload them to your desired platform or send the link to you and/or your team.

On-line:
All you need is a smart phone or a laptop and a well lit wall. If we are shooting a self tape, I will capture the audition on my end over ZOOM and then edit, tweak and upload it to WeTransfer. I will send you the link so you can deliver it to your reps or I will upload as needed.

Training
I imagine that actors coming to work with me will have some amount of training.  No worries if you don't, but, if you do, know that we will start with your vocabulary and your process and go from there.
Talent
If you are engaging in this process, someone along the way has probably said to you, "You're good at this..." and hopefully you have felt it as well.  We'll use your strength, build on what you do well, and then we'll address the things you find challenging.
Timing
My job is to help you take advantage of the opportunity at hand.  You have an audition or a role; my task is to help you make the very most of this promising moment.

I’m a coach and an actor for theatre, film and tv.

I’ve been working professionally for over 20 years.  After getting my MFA in acting at Columbia University, I got my equity card doing a Maria Irene Fornes play, Enter the Night, at Signature Theatre here in NY. After that, I did primarily new plays at regional theaters.  I lived for a few years in Pittsburgh, PA where I did 10 plus shows at City Theater and taught at Point Park University. After a few years, I moved back to New York and since then have continued to do theater (including a dozen shows at Theatre Squared in Fayetteville, AR) but more film and television. Those credits include How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Chicago Med, Blacklist, FBI: Most Wanted and Law and Order. I played the role of Ledda Dobbs on WGN's new drama Outsiders for 2 seasons.  I’ve also done a number of really great projects with a fantastic British company called Improbable. For more specifics on my acting and to see my resume and my reels go to RebeccaHarris.biz

I believe there are some differences between acting for film and acting for theatre but, in the end, both are about honesty and reaction, truth telling and good choices. Performing may be glorious and liberating but it is always challenging.  My job is to help you identify your habits and determine whether or not they are serving you.  My goal is to push you as an actor to go through the tricky stuff with me so that you can shine once you get in the room.

I will help you prepare your audition so that it feels like a performance and your performance so it feels like a gift. I will help you put your audition on tape so it is easy and fun and it looks great.

  • $125 per hour for coaching and/or taping
  • If we tape an audition, I will edit and upload the takes we choose
within 4-6 hours of your session.
